Background

Kroll is the world's leading risk consulting company and is an operating unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., the global professional services firm. The Living Legacy Programme supports Kroll's Leadership Development objectives and commitment to corporate responsibility and diversity, with a unique opportunity for staff to develop as leaders within a live and challenging community-based project with the global charity, Save The Children. This programme was targeted at Kroll's Director level staff and above, across offices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Objectives

This programme had two focus areas:

  • Leadership Development - development of team working skills and leadership skills such as delegation, sharing of information, and personal responsibility.
  • Corporate Responsibility - involvement in a live and challenging real life project while making a difference to communities in which Kroll does business.

Results

  • Created a strategy for Save the Children that affects children worldwide.
  • Developed problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills in a new way.
  • Greater understanding of personal strengths and how to use them effectively.
  • Met new people and created powerful team alliances through achieving mutual goals.
  • Learned how to draw on the power to influence, inspire, and develop collaborative relationships.
  • Participants were stretched and challenged, learning to respond effectively to dynamically changing conditions.
  • Gained confidence as leaders, ready to assume new responsibilities and challenges back at work.
